Well the 2005 Locust Thorn Golf League has come to a close.  I think all had a great time considering the greens were very fast.  Next year we will see a change in the greens now that we have the water available to maintain them.

Team winners for the 2005 season were John Dubois and John Skaglione. great season and congratulations go to you both!

This year for the first time we had the Locust Thorn 2005 Open. It was a put to the finish.  Our overall champ was Greg Gruss taking the first place Gold Trophy, David Daughenbaugh taking the second place Silver Trophy, and Brian Cox taking the third place Bronze Trophy. Trophies were presented to all golfers for a job well done.

Thirteen weeks of golfing was enjoyed by all and we all look forward to next season when Locust Thorn Golf Club will offer league play and the challenging Locust Thorn 2006 Open.

To this date, no one has reached the Par of 33 or under for 9 holes.
First to do this will get his name and date posted on the pole at Tee Number One. Come on Golfers this will be an Honor!

After a particularly poor game of golf, a popular club member skipped the clubhouse and started to go home. As he was walking to the parking lot to get his car, a policeman stopped him and asked, "Did you tee off on the sixteenth hole about twenty minutes ago?" "Yes," the golfer responded. "Did you happen to hook your ball so that it went over the trees and off the course?" "Yes, I did. How did you know?" he asked. "Well," said the policeman very seriously, "Your ball flew out onto the highway and crashed through a driver's windshield. The car went out of control, crashing into five other cars and a fire truck. The fire truck couldn't make it to the fire, and the building burned down. So, what are you going to do about it?" The golfer thought it over carefully and responded... "I think I'll close my stance a little bit, tighten my grip and lower my right thumb."
